So yesterday I'm out tootling in the teetoo, and I romp on it a couple times. Feels pretty frisky. Pulling in third, I look down at the boost gauge. 20 PSI!!!! WTF? I could have sworn I had it set around 13-15.

I checked under the hood. All the lines are hooked up. Time to check the operation of the manual boost controller, I supposes.

I pulled 25 and 30 psi in my merkur xr4ti with the wastegate gone...that motor went out in a blaze of glory the following year.

...it had 400 000km's on the motor though.

Yeah, I wasn't too concerned since the fuel map in the Haltech would cover it up to 30, within the limitations of the 750 cc/min secondaries. Still, it's a bit higher than I want to run with the stock hybrid turbo.

Had that happen one night screwing around. I think the Greddy boost controller had a brain fart or something. Thank god for boost gauges!

I go overkill with boost control. I put like 3 zip ties on my vac lines. On ecu's on FPR's, Wastegate's i just dont want to take any chances. 1 gone vac line could equal 1 gone motor. But i also have a popoff valve so if there is any boost above 2-3 psi over what i set my boost controler at boost gets realeased. Safety first.

Use synflex and brass

-150 PSI capable

-No risk of blowing off

-Cheap, cheap, cheap.
