Don't just buy the first one that you see. Make sure to get a compression test, a boost test, a visual inspection, and just a proper shake down before you buy one. A lot of people have abused these cars, and they can sometimes show it. Be prepared to spend some money on maintainance. When you buy it, change every fluid in the car, as well as the fuel filter. And for the love of God, don't buy an AUTO!

I honestly wouldn't recommend getting an FD for a first car. There can be a lot of difficulties and problems that cost money, time, and work. If you are rich, then that's one thing, but I have trouble with my car sometimes, and I do all the work myself.

get a reliable beater first. we don't want you to wreck a FD..... they are NOT good first cars.... either for reliability or being easy to drive...........

I'd have to agree, its not a good first car. Its expensive, fussy, expensive, hard for most people to work on, expensive, easy to wreck for the new driver, well shoot easy to wreck for the experienced driver, and did I mention expensive.

thats what the lady selling my rx7 told me and my dad, she didn't even want to sell it to me. I would have loved to have an Fd as my first car, but I love working on cars and don't mind the down time.
