The snow was very isolated. People coming to my college didn't expect to see any...but there is some here...

I think the snow is way more tolerable when you are prepared for it...as in driving something you WANT to drive in it.

Last year I only owned the Mr2-Turbo. I could use the Tercel on snow days, but I didn't always see it coming ! I was grumpy all the time drivin in it...even the days after...when the roads are dirty and salty.

So, from the first "Scare" last year, I check www.weather.com religiously....

This year I feel a big weight off of my shoulders. No more mr2, and even if/when I have an FD, it'll be garaged. The integra I have is managable in the snow. The dirt/salt and crappy conditions don't suck as much being I am not in the nice sports car.

The Cold I can finally tolerate. Anything above 20degrees is fine by me. The snow rox, just not on the roads. And when it IS on the roads, you just have to drive LIKE YOU HAVE NO BRAKES. Teknics is right, they drive like 4wd/Awd means speed...it doesn't...

I have always had that as the best recomendation for driving in snow:

Drive like you have no brakes. Period. See a stop up ahead? Slow down early...let off the gas...because you have "no brakes".

Can't wait to snowboard!

there was barely no snow, like 1/2 inch maybe.

but the roads had a solid layer of ice, seriously, you could probably glide down most of the roads if you so dared.

i just took a quick drive and most of it has melted now, but it has just begun snowing again very lightly.

but **** that im still gonna stay nice and warm at home muahahaha.

phoenix, thats the same way i was taught, when driving in icy or snowy conditions, drive as if your brakes dont work....and that doesnt mean pull the e-brake .

these people on the roads this morning were acting like the snow would help them stop quicker or something, ******* idiots.

im considering going to school late, but by the time i get there ill only have tmie for like a 1 huor nap, and the shop will probably be full of "put my snow tires onto these rims and put them on the car"...or "i dunno i was spinning my automatic cars tires in the snow hoping to move then all of asudden the tires just stopped moving...i think the trans blew up"

On this note...how far south do I have to move to avoid snow on a big level, but still have mountains/rivers/lakes/streams?

I'm guessing Maryland?

I lived in SC for a whole summer (Yea that didn't work out..) and been to FL and although its warmer,...it gets too hot and the lack of Mtn's sux. Feel like you aren't living anywhere...just a plot of land in the middle of nowhere...weird...but the Mtn's make you feel like you are somewhere...okay I am tired.
