what? no raid array?
|
that casing is bad.I saw that at Comp USA..can you get them cheaper online?I forgot the name...
|
I dont have a need for RAID.
I dont have a system that has to be up 24/7, and I archive all of my data on CD's and TAPE. trust me, RAID is not the best way to keep all of your data; it should be relied upon only as part of your design to keep your system up as long as possible.. and yes, I should know; my last gig was on the Netfinity/E Server series team at IBM. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Sorrow: do you mean the casing is bad or hot? I was going to get this case online, but I got a sweet deal at a local shop here for the case and 400Wt PS. Plus it already included the clear side case, which at the time was going for around 19.99 online a couple of months ago when I got it. |
that case IS bad ass. I'd have it... if I could.

What did you pay for it..and how did you get the lights inside? |
i think the case was around 70-80, powersupply was thrown in at a good deal ( i cant remember)
the 19.99 part is not the case, but the Clear Panel part of the case. Most of the sites that sold this Skyhawk Case sold it stock, with the regular side panels. They offered you the choice at the time to pay an additional 19.99 for a Clear sided panel. When I saw this at a local store, I haggled with the guy, and he gave it to me for a real nice deal, and I took it home and found out that it included the Clear side. The light is a mod that you can add, which connects to your Powercable DIN connectors. Installation was kinda easy, you just have to be creative. Do you see the black switch on the front that says "ON/OFF"? I took one of the extra Floppy Drive filler panels, and drilled a nice center hole to place the switch in, so it looks all professional and sweet. And HOT meaning phat or fresh, not stolen, LOL. I guarentee you, CompUSA doesnt sell this case! |
i have seen a variation of that case an OEM i deal with uses them. compusa sells LIAN LI cases and knockoff ones too.....

Hm, any advantages with a dualie system? I don't think I'd find any gains in gaming..But it has to be a lot faster..
But I have been looking into possibly making my next box a dualie board. But I'm gonna use AMDs, those xeons cost a fortune, not to mention the boards are like 500 bucks. |

Some games like Quake3 and others can actually take advantage of the duals, but not too many... there are however other OS level processes like graphics and sound processing that can be offloaded to the other CPU by the OS... I'm wanting to get dual monitors but don't have enough desk space at the moment... need to get 2 LCDs (mmm... that would be nice), the car parts are winning out though... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png the LCD screens I want are pretty pricey :( I think about the Dual AMD solutions sometimes... depends on my mood on which would be better though... the Intel stuff will be coming down in price real soon though... AMD does have that advantage for now... I'm mostly concerned with the newness of AMD multi-cpu chipsets, although I've heard that the 760MP is supposed to be pretty stable and a good performer... *shrug* who knows... my Pc is fast enough for now... car needs to go faster... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... (even though it's pretty darn fast already https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... ) |
I guess I did have pics of my puter up online already. They're crappy as they're taking with my webcam.
