No it doesnt. It cooks form the outside in, like anything else. If you dont believe me, put a thick roast in the microwave long enough to brown the outside, and then cut it open. The center will still be raw.



Microwaves cook by exciting the molecules of the food, and the ones closer to th eoutside get excited first. The thinnest part cooks the fastest because it has more surface area for its mass than the thicker parts.
