RE Amemiya does not use 3M tapes. They use urethane glue like those for the windshield and also silicone sealant. I don't understand how they can do that without making a mess.



The covers do not really sit flush with the housing. Just want to warn you in advance. But if you use the urethane and silicone to build up the thickness, it should be ok.



For 3M acrylic tape, you can buy it from HD racing (home depot). Go to the tape section and you will find it.



So the easy way will be using the 3M tape. Hard way will be using the urethane glue and silicone sealant.

I'm actually using silicon sealant to hold the ones that come with your kit.. yes, it's a messy job... but it's sealed very nicely...



I wanted to see if I could try what RE uses since it seems to work.. I thought it was some kind of 3M tape... I also tried the local Home Depot and Loews but both do not carry that heavy duty type of tape... just the normal foam type to hold up pictures...

Best place to go the an auto paint supply shop they usually carry them. I had them price out in NJ and the price are $28 for the roll, 3mm tape also these are the wide type. Chuck are u sure that the covers does not sit flush? I have seen they website picture and to me it look like it has contour shape on it? Khris

Yes, they do not sit flush. That's why RE Amemiya uses the urethane and silicone to build up the thickness so minor conture variation won't be a problem. I have imported a few sets of the RE Amemiya H11 headlight kits already and they all fit the same.
