Getting requests for a GB, no problem

all I need is a designated place in the US to except 3 diffusers

and we can do another order if you want to do a GB, thats no

prob. Im using my brother this time. MAX People was 3 and

and they have been waiting patiently for a while now...

So we can start a GB for $560 thats cool.... 3 at a time though

plus they take 2-3 weeks to make. So in one box I can ship 3

but if we get someone that can except a couple boxes or even

pick them up from the docks, we are in business

I don't live too far from the Los Angeles/Long Beach port here in So. Cal.

If needed, I can help out... I would just need to know the date of arrival and size https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

How come all the concrete in Japan looks like it was JUST poured and stamped? It's not all shitty and dirty like it is here.

haha looks good but doesnt last for shite......

Hey from what little I've seen of Japan, they've gone cement crazy. They have cement everywhere. If they could, they would cement over Mount Fuji. I think it's part of the political cronies in Japan trying to jumpstart the economy by cementing everything in sight.

Jason, I'm in for a diffuser at $560 shipped. I can PayPal. Do we need to wait for another 2 orders to do this? Also, if it is shipped to LA, I can have someone pick it up and hold it for me, as I need to be out there for business a few weeks form now. Would that reduce the price as your brother will not need to ship it to me in NY?

While I've got you, I have a question about the mazdaspeed CF inside rear view mirror. You mention that it will not work unless it's a type 4 mirror. Forgive my ignorance, but what is a type 4 mirror? My car is a '93 3rd gen.

Also, you should know that a number of the photos on your website are not loading when you access your website. Just an FYI.

Just for the record, we should clarify what a diffuser is intended to do for a car (I noticed a question on the last thread regarding the function of a diffuser).

Not unlike the venturi tunnels that Formula 1 cars featured in the 80's until they were outlawed, and flat bottom chassis were mandated, the diffuser is simply a smaller version of those tunnels under the side pods on a formula car. The diffuser arose because the new F1 rules dictated that the bottom of the chassis needed to be flat from the center line of the front wheels to the center line of the rear wheels. Whatever went on behind the rear axle was ok. So, it was found that a minature tunnel would produce downforce (though not as much as the tunnels), and you still see diffusers on modern day F1 cars.

How it works is based on the venturi effect, where the air is accelerated at the smallest part of the diffuser (the section closest to the road), and slows down as the aperture opens up (the section where the diffuser is further from the road. This slowed air creates a low pressure area, and the higher pressure area (the air moving over the top of the car at a higher speed) creates the downforce. In effect, it's a wing. The vertical side planes server to contain the air flow within the tunnel, and should come as close to the road as practical to ensure that the air doesn't 'spill' out of the tunnel. They are not to straighten the air flow as reported in a number of replies.

Will it work on a 3rd gen? It depends on the design of the tunnel (can't really tell from the photos), the proximity of the side plates to the road (a limiting factor in street-based vehicles, and the speed of the car. It's not unlike most of the wings bolted onto the rear decks of cars today-do they work? Perhaps. But they 'look' as though they would, and that's why we're ponying-up all this $.

A type 4 mirror is the mirror thats in a 99spec FD.

If you dont buy the mirror, it wont even be close to

working

As for the diffuser, lets make sure we have 3 people

that way money doesnt start flying around and some

decide to cancel.
