Getting requests for a GB, no problem

all I need is a designated place in the US to except 3 diffusers

and we can do another order if you want to do a GB, thats no

prob. Im using my brother this time. MAX People was 3 and

and they have been waiting patiently for a while now...

So we can start a GB for $560 thats cool.... 3 at a time though

plus they take 2-3 weeks to make. So in one box I can ship 3

but if we get someone that can except a couple boxes or even

pick them up from the docks, we are in business

I don't live too far from the Los Angeles/Long Beach port here in So. Cal.

If needed, I can help out... I would just need to know the date of arrival and size https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

How come all the concrete in Japan looks like it was JUST poured and stamped? It's not all shitty and dirty like it is here.

JT-Imports 01-07-2003 05:46 PM

haha looks good but doesnt last for shite......

PoMan Ferrari 01-07-2003 09:31 PM

Hey from what little I've seen of Japan, they've gone cement crazy. They have cement everywhere. If they could, they would cement over Mount Fuji. I think it's part of the political cronies in Japan trying to jumpstart the economy by cementing everything in sight.

gcthree 01-07-2003 10:39 PM

Jason, I'm in for a diffuser at $560 shipped. I can PayPal. Do we need to wait for another 2 orders to do this? Also, if it is shipped to LA, I can have someone pick it up and hold it for me, as I need to be out there for business a few weeks form now. Would that reduce the price as your brother will not need to ship it to me in NY?

While I've got you, I have a question about the mazdaspeed CF inside rear view mirror. You mention that it will not work unless it's a type 4 mirror. Forgive my ignorance, but what is a type 4 mirror? My car is a '93 3rd gen.

Also, you should know that a number of the photos on your website are not loading when you access your website. Just an FYI.

oes that rear defuser look ok on its own or being back there with nothing on the sides throw the car off? Im lookin at the pik of your car jt and it looks like the car is missing somthing else it might be the pic though..............

Just for the record, we should clarify what a diffuser is intended to do for a car (I noticed a question on the last thread regarding the function of a diffuser).

Not unlike the venturi tunnels that Formula 1 cars featured in the 80's until they were outlawed, and flat bottom chassis were mandated, the diffuser is simply a smaller version of those tunnels under the side pods on a formula car. The diffuser arose because the new F1 rules dictated that the bottom of the chassis needed to be flat from the center line of the front wheels to the center line of the rear wheels. Whatever went on behind the rear axle was ok. So, it was found that a minature tunnel would produce downforce (though not as much as the tunnels), and you still see diffusers on modern day F1 cars.

How it works is based on the venturi effect, where the air is accelerated at the smallest part of the diffuser (the section closest to the road), and slows down as the aperture opens up (the section where the diffuser is further from the road. This slowed air creates a low pressure area, and the higher pressure area (the air moving over the top of the car at a higher speed) creates the downforce. In effect, it's a wing. The vertical side planes server to contain the air flow within the tunnel, and should come as close to the road as practical to ensure that the air doesn't 'spill' out of the tunnel. They are not to straighten the air flow as reported in a number of replies.

Will it work on a 3rd gen? It depends on the design of the tunnel (can't really tell from the photos), the proximity of the side plates to the road (a limiting factor in street-based vehicles, and the speed of the car. It's not unlike most of the wings bolted onto the rear decks of cars today-do they work? Perhaps. But they 'look' as though they would, and that's why we're ponying-up all this $.

A type 4 mirror is the mirror thats in a 99spec FD.

If you dont buy the mirror, it wont even be close to

working

As for the diffuser, lets make sure we have 3 people

that way money doesnt start flying around and some

decide to cancel.

Jason would a diffuser do anything to protect my mufflers? I have a set of Dual N1's on a second gen and they hang pretty low even as far up as they go in the body

JT-Imports 01-10-2003 06:34 AM

No it sure wont man.

Actually this GB is for the FD, even though I can fit the

FC one in the same box. The Dual N1 ones maybe a

hard exhaust to get a diffuser around.

GoRacer 01-10-2003 07:16 PM

It looks like the Carbon version (since it's black) but what about the optional venturi things that stick out on the side? Are they sold seperate and if so how much?

Jason's RE-A rear diffuser

JT-Imports 01-10-2003 09:41 PM

As for the Options, there are no options for this diffuser.

All the Options are for the PRO version. If you wanted one

of those, we can still send them just the same, only the

price would be a little different for the PRO

GoRacer 01-10-2003 10:40 PM

So the Pro version is one peice then?

gc3 01-11-2003 07:03 PM

Jason;

I was just over at your website, and the optional piece for the PRO diffuser is a VORTEX generator (at least the ones that fit to the outside of the diffuser) and not a 'bowtech' generator as you have it listed.

Do you know of any place where there's a photo of the PRO without the generators, or must you buy them when you buy the PRO. Also, what's the best price on the PRO. $720 for a $50 piece of fiberglass borders perilously close to insanity.

Hi Jason,

I was trying to get a Mazdaspeed CF Rear Diffuser from the guy who runs the other *forum*. He had been trying to get it for me for quite some time but .. it just wasn't possible. I made several calls to Japan myself but no one could help me out. I kept being told that Mazdaspeed no longer exports ANYTHING to the US ?!?!? ..something to do with the join up with Mazda Comp or something to that effect ...and ..even though I am NOT in the US, I usually ship to the US ..which puts me in the same boat ?!?! ..if that were actually the case...

Anyways, Any chance of you getting one of the Mazdaspeed CF units ??

(Still haven't made it home yet, I'll be there in about 4 days to try out my FEED brace ! )

Jason I PMed you about some other parts, please respond asap.

rx7machine 01-21-2003 11:46 PM

I'm interested.. but I'm probably going to hold off until a later date for this..

JT-Imports 01-22-2003 01:42 AM

3rdgen---- I can get it no problem. OFFICALLY Mazdaspeed went out of business, the NEW Mazdaspeed is ran by Mazda Comp, which is MAZDA basically. Lets keep it simple. I have to get all my Mazdaspeed parts threw MAZDA now. They dont offer any discounts, that we know of, even though we

havent got a chance to talk to them in person. I can get the parts no problem though. Just let me know man.

I have a friend in Virginia that said he could handle the incoming parts of large natures. So look out for some good GBs coming, including this one.

namasan 01-26-2003 08:48 AM

Does RE-A still make the old style diffuser for the FD? Product number D0-022030-120. Anyone in the D.C. area interested in going in on this with me?

JT-Imports 01-27-2003 02:05 AM

Yes they sure do. Thats the one I have on my car.

For each GB, all we need is 3 people.

JT-Imports 01-29-2003 11:50 PM

Im working on some pics, if the sun will ever stay up

around here more then a few hours hehe

Mazdabation 02-08-2003 05:49 AM

Just currious on how this is going?

I may want to spend some more money :bigok:

To bad FEED has nothing for the ass end of the 7

JT-Imports 02-09-2003 04:42 AM

Mazdabation---I will hook it up tomorrow, its suppose to be a nice day
