im down to save 300 bucks

treceb 12-11-2003 11:02 AM

and this is how u expect jason to keep bringing us these great prices???

well, if i saved 300 bucks and was able to sell my rear side skirts for say 200. then thats 500 that would go towards jason....

what would you make the copies out of and what would be an estimated finish date?

dcrosby 12-11-2003 03:26 PM

I'd rather get an improved product with say polyurathane, than a 50% off deal, since I'd rather pay for quality than save $$ on a cheap kockoff that'll break just as fast, I say improve, and I'd buy one, but if you're just selling the same stuff, and I have to deal with Vapor-Parts for the next 3-6 Mo. I'd rather spend the cash to get an original... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.png

I just don't want the headache that I've seen other times with HID Kits that never appeared etc etc etc...

if you guys know dave though... you'll know that he dont **** around, he'll probably get pissed off if his product is not up to par

Fd3BOOST 12-12-2003 07:55 AM

Thats fine. I will actually get another thread going when I find a local vendor who can produce the part.

Once I get the mold I would be able to get tham done in Carbon fiber ir Fiber glass.

I know someone that does Carbon Fiber so I know I can get that one made.

BTW the prices I mentioned are a guestimate until I get a deal agreed upon with a vendor. There is no guarantee that I will even be able to find a vendor. I am looking to get one for myself first and foremost. If i can get a decent one made then I will see if anyone else wants one too. Thats all https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I hope you dont feel as though I am stepping on your toes Jason, There are enough purists around who would rather have the original to keep you busy.

Not to mention it was my thread https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.png

Ok thats my last post on this thread. I will let people know when I have something to tell. Good luck to all.

Urethane can't withstand heat. It's also heavier and too flexible. Not a good idea to mount it underneath the car without enough mounting points. It's just going to sag and deform.

But, yes, it can be done. $1000 each and need 10 buyers. Strongly not recommended though.

I was just curious... just wanted material that matched close to the R1 front lip and the rear piece that's already back there.

$1000...

I say lets see what develops most of us can't buy it before X-mas anyhow, and given a couple of months I'd be interested to see who gets what done, my money is on nothing, and we'll just end up getting things we want from JT anyhow... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

So lets's keep the idea in mind, and then buy from whomever gets us the best $$ / Quality ratio around....

FikseRxSeven 12-16-2003 08:16 PM

hey chuck, what would be the price range if you produce this rear diffuser?

HDP 12-18-2003 08:55 AM

Any new developments?

If there is someone that donates the diffuser, the cost will be $300+shipping.

If I have to buy the diffuser to make the mold, I have to distribute the cost on top of each one sold so the diffuser will be $350+shipping.

If the CF one can be made, it will be $200 more. It has those fins a lot like the Mazdaspeed RX8 rear bumper. My car made the rear bumper in CF already so I think he should be able to do it.

I can only make it if we have 10+ buyers. Otherwise the cost of the mold is too much.

Thank you.

Well, whoever is making the list, please put me on it. I'm going for good quality and the best price... hmmm, sounds like Wal-Mart. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif
