Steve , I just put mine on my 94 and it looks great. The fit is a bit diffrent then the 93, however it went in pretty easy. Just a suggestion, could the person that made these come up with a hood to reduce the glare when driving in daylight ? The screen on the PFC isnt to bright during the day and the angle of the holder doest help . If there was a way to make a small cover that could slip on the back of the holder ? Just a thought since I would think most people have this problem also.
I'll check with cavell and see if he wants to do a redesign on it. The problem is that you'll have to drill a hole at the back of the holder and then somehow find a flat surface type bolt in order to put the hood on top of it. Have you mess around with the brightness on your commander?

i posted pictures of one installed in a 94 somewhere here on the forum. the 'arm' of the holder isn't hidden by the glove box like in a 93. i ordered a few and found that out when trying to install one. i ended up not using it, it looked tacky IMO.

i do like the fact that you can set the commander in the holder and it won't fall out. i'm trying to come up with someway of combining that aspect with a different kind of mount

Was there any problem with the glove compartment (opening, closing, etc.)? If there's going to be a glare.. I'd probably rather not get it.. instead of a hood thing for it.. why not simply re-design the whole thing w/ a slight curve, bend or something.. but it still looks pretty good.

The material is .090 aluminum, so it's pretty flexible. And the powder coating won't crack unless you bend it A LOT. The only problem with the hood would be taking the Commander in and out of it, so the hood/cowl couldn't be perm affixed. I take mine out every time I park and put it underneath the passenger mat.

There is a curve already in it, about 15-20 degrees pointed towards the driver's side.

There's no issue with the glove box opening or closing, there's about a 1/4 inch wide opening between the dash and the glove box, and the holder sits in between there so there's no rubbing. On the 94-95 its below the opening, and it doesn't hit either.

A friend of mine has some pictures of it installed in his 94, and I'll try to get them so I can post them up on here.

If enough people really want a cowl over the top to reduce glare, then I could make some. But it wouldn't be cost efficient for me if there'd be a run of only 5-10 or so...

Just an FYI, and if anybody has any Q's, let me know. cavellm@sbcglobal.net Or PM me on rx7forum.com as cavellm as I visit there a lot more than here.

Okay, just got my Yahoo photos thingy up and going. Here are tons of pics. Some before they were powder coated so you get a good idea of the exact shape when they're not dark as hell.

http://photos.yahoo.com/cavellm@sbcglobal.net Click on My Photos, then Commander Mount. Still workin on the 94 install pics...
