Just tell you wife that you will get it eventually and since it's cheaper now, it's a good idea to get it now than later.

[quote name='AgentSpeed' date='May 9 2005, 10:11 PM']Dang Chuck, I just promised my wife to be that I'd get on a budget... We are getting married Saturday and we are planning to get some bills paid off this year. Then here you go and post this, are you trying to get me divorced already??? I've got that guy from Alaska's car as my desktop background now (trying to get used to a carbon fiber hood on a white 7). I'm wanting the hood real bad but I think the wife will veto the idea...

Yes, I recommend hood pins on all hoods no matter who makes it. The stock latch catch is very weak. The spot welds break off sometimes. That happens to two of my customers already with the stock hood. I even recommend hood pins on the stock hood.

[quote name='treceb' date='May 10 2005, 10:16 AM']chuck, for your hoods, do you recommend hood pins or is the stock latch good enough?

I'm not going to promise, but from what I can tell it should fit. The vents look deep, but that's mainly because of the raised area around them. I just went downstairs and measured mine. The forward-most edges of the vents protrude less than 3/8ths of an inch below the framing of the hood, which is thinner than the framing on the stock hood. So if an LS1 fits under a stock hood with the pad on it, it should fit under this one beautifully. If you could give me measurements of the LS1, I could check again with certainty.

lol. Alaska's FD is Kai's car. IMO N1 hood looks really good on a white 7.
