We are in the process of making a pop-up headlight like the Knight Sports one that pops up about 2/3 of the stock height. Instead of using those cheap fog lights like the Knight Sports ones which do not improve visibility at all, we are using the Hella 90mm lights just like our sleek headlight kit. HID option will be available as well. The pop-up dual beam headlight kit will come with the following parts:

1. custom headlight brackets to hold the 90mm Hella lights

2. A pair of Hella 90mm low beam projectors and a pair of Hella 90mm high beams

3. fiberglass headlight bezels

4. All the mounting hardware

5. Optional carbon fiber headlight bezel and HID option will be available.

Special pre-order price:

$700 for the basic kit, regular price: $850

$150 for the carbon fiber bezel option, regular price: $200

$500 a pair for the HID option, regular price: $600

The deadline for pre order will be 1-31-04. The release date of the kit will be mid-Feb.

I will post pictures of the prototype in a few days. Thank you.

don't you wish you waited a little bit longer to change your headlights?

War Eagle 01-21-2004 01:14 PM

I'm very interested in this also. Please post some pics!

PoBoy Ferrari 01-22-2004 02:13 PM

Yes. I'm interested in the HID low beam set up. Assume it's $1200?

Post some pictures first though.

Touring FD3S 01-27-2004 11:27 AM

Is that pre-order price only available before Jan 31 even without pics? We all know you produce very good quality pieces, but without pics can you really expect people to pay for it?

Just wondering cause it is something I had considered doing as a one off type of deal, but would love to see what you have come up with.

I'm very interested in this but would like to see pics before placing an order. I assume I've now missed the pre-order date. Seems like if you would post some pics, you'll generate better interest.

Look forward to the pics.

treceb 02-04-2004 02:15 PM

this is a reply i got from an email i sent them...all seems to be well and the kit still in progress. so sit tightly.

Sorry, the deadline will be extended. The deadline will be one month from the date we post pictures. We have too much stuff going on right now so haven't got time to finish the prototype. Sorry about it.

Yup, i have already spent my money elsewhere...

rotaryextreme 02-24-2004 04:55 PM

Just to show you that I am not giving up on the project and it's coming along slowly, here is a picture of the prototype. The bezel has to be worked on some more. The gap between the bezel and the low beam projector has to be filled up.

tigerdriver 03-01-2004 05:47 PM

Looks sweet! Any guess on when they will be ready? and are you sticking with 1200 for the HID?

I would definately be in!

tigerdriver 03-05-2004 09:20 PM

Chuck?

FikseRxSeven 03-05-2004 09:30 PM

damn chuck!!!! that looks nice as hell!!!!!!!!!

rotaryextreme 03-06-2004 03:31 AM

Sorry, no definite finish date at this time but the group buy price will be valid for a month after we complete the first kit.

So the price for the HID will be $1200 if you purchase it before the deadline.

Chuck,

When you get them working, do like you did with your sleek light kit and post some pics so we can see how much better they light the road than stock and the beam pattern. Another quality product coming from Rotary Extreme again!

Tim

poboy-ferrari 03-16-2004 10:13 PM

I like it very much.

It looks like the low beam has enough clearance to provide for a nice light pattern.

Definitely keep us in the loop. I've spent over the years close to $1200 on various ways of getting a better light but still not happy so $1200 for a real OEM HID projector is about time.

treceb 03-16-2004 10:41 PM

i want, i want....thats sexy

phinsn98 03-23-2004 07:25 PM

Chuck I've brought this up with you at least 2 or 3 times in the past. But I was discussing doing this for the turbo 2. I'm just hoping you plan on making this for the T2.

Thanks,

David

PoBoy Ferrari 06-03-2004 03:07 PM

Anything new on this?

I need a set of HID low-rise pop up lights real bad.

RX7 RAGE 06-03-2004 05:49 PM

blueskaterboy 06-04-2004 05:42 PM

any more details pictures?

rotaryextreme 06-06-2004 04:35 PM

It's nearly impossible to make the lights poped up half way using the Hella 90mm lights because the low beam is too long. The low beam interferes with the pop up mechanism. I can use some other Hella lights but the lighting will not be as good as the low beam Hella 90mm projector. Will you still be interested? The lighting will be probably just a little better than stock but not by much.

Chuck

apexkw 06-06-2004 06:55 PM

i dont care if they pop up all the way. i will still buy this kit. i am not a fan of sleek lights. hid low and high for me please!
