I got mine, it's installed, and it's ****** SCHWEET!!! Feels like I have a new tranny! No more tough shifts, and the confidence of third gear is amazing! Best $150 I've spent yet!
|
OK.. how do you adjust the stiffness of this thing.. I can't compress this thing for shiet... I tried turning the adjustment thingy..but nothing..
anyone? |
I have the instructions, and we are trying to scan
them so we can get them online for everyone.. Jayspec- Do you have a pic of what is going on? Jason www.jt-imports.com |
Basically... If you take the adjustment out all the way you only see a plastic sleeve... I don't think that compresses much.. I thought there was fluid in there?
Anyone else trying compressing it? |

Hey Jason, I got mine today too 12-17-02.
One thing about the install for left hand drive FD. The triangular brace near the firewall with two screws? Well they fit just fine but then the tubular portion doesn't clear the ABS unit. You don't want to put a longer bolt on the engine side either as this would create a moment arm about the longer bolt on the engine side. The way to do it is to move the triangular brace closer against the firewall so that the tubular portion is angled slightly. Then you drill two new holes. It fits like a charm and clears everything without touching brake lines or ABS. |
WOW good to hear it PoMan Ferrari...
Everyone is getting some cool ideas... Jason www.jt-imports.com |

hehe.. well.. On the UIM bracket, you need to get a new SS bolt that is a little longer than what the kit comes w/. Then use a nut or washers as spacers to line the brace between the 2 ABS nuts. Flip the bracket around and bolt it with the middle hole. At this time, I have that one bolt holding it, but am trying to figure out what I need to do to secure it better... for some reason, I think it'll hold anyway. At this time, you'll see that the brace is perfectly straight!! Next thing is get another longer SS bolt like the one provided and do the same w/ the spacers to raise the brace from the ABS unit. Once you have done that.. You should have PERFECT fitment and no issues w/ the ABS unit... Please measure everything when you install this brace whether you follow my instructions or do it yourself... If spoken to people that have scratched the hell out of theirs.. by the ABS unit and/or hood rubbing the brace.... good luck |
i got mine the **** looks good

good luck Exactly... Batmobile.. any scratches or rubbing.. there has to be.. it's impossible unless you have no ABS.. I don't want any scratches on mine... |
i got no scrathces on mine. install was easy. it looks really nice too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

OK, i gotta correction on Batmobile's brace.... one of our car's is weird. His ABS sits farther back than mine towards the firewall by about 1 inch. That's why his fit with all 3 screws. We did a quadruple-take when we found that out. As for mine, I'm just using 1 of the 3, and a little silicone sealer to keep rattles down. Oh well.... it'll fit one way or another!
|
Yes...Rotor-Rooter and I tried to fit his and for some reason it didn't fit. We kept comparing between our two cars and found out that my ABS sits back a bit. Don't know when or how. And yes, JaySpec, it does scratch, fortunately on the bottom side. The nice Feed Logo still looks great. The only thing I can suggest is to release one of the bolt on the ABS and shift it back a little. It worked on Rotor's but he didn't want it that way(what a gay). OH, and make sure the hook on the UIM portion is angled correctly. I hope that help fellas. I will try to post some pics.
