Just thought I would let everyone know that there is a group buy going on for the stainless 51R battery tray over at "the other forum". Info can be found here:

$71 shipped for 20 people or $61 shipped for 30 people.

Lead time is about 3-4 weeks after the order is placed. My vendor has been very good at meeting that lead time, previous group buy threads will verify that.

This battery tray is designed to fit the 51R battery. It is a common battery size for Hondas, some Mitsubishi's, etc. If you get the Optima 51R the cranking amps are very similar to the stock battery but it is about 10lbs lighter and allows room for a Med sized SMIC with no rubbing and a legitimate battery tie down.

I don't think this setup will fit with most FMICs. I've said in the past I can make one for FMICs but there wasn't enough interest.

Thanks,

Jeff

Anyone interested please PM Jeff directly.

How is it you can advertise a rx7club group buy here, but i can't advertise a nopistons.com group buy at rx7club?

I don't really know that I can. If I'm in the wrong, then please forgive me but I always thought of this as the friendly forum and I'm just trying to help out other owners that may want this battery tray. By all means if it's against the rules then I am sorry and I ask that the mods delete my post.

Sincerely,

Dennis

Well.. this tray is a very quality piece of hardware.. I bought one last year. I would've never known about it, but I happened across it one day on the club. Although it's an RX7club GB, it's offered by a member there, not the forum owners.

I recommend the post stays and anyone using or looking to use a 51R battery purchase one!

I'm not going to argue my point any further. Thanks to those who have offered kind words, thanks also to those who have offered criticism. Differring opinions are what makes the world go 'round. And thanks to the mod (whichever mod it was) who moved this thread and consolidated the info in the first post.

Sincerely,

Dennis
