I just saw this! Is it to late to get in on the GB? I would need one of the ones for an 89 and up FC.

Excuse my ignorance, but what makes one shifter better than the other? From all the reading I've done so far, it looks like the only real benefit is a shorter throw. Do any of these have adjustable stops so that you can't overrun the 3rd gear or 4th gear shifts? Do these have self-centering springs so that you can do an easy 2-3 upshift? Someone please enlighten me as I am new to FDs.

Thanks!

yes it makes the shift shorter and makes 3rd a "no miss situation" lol

If your really worried about over shifting and you want to lock out

other gears, you might be interested in the STILLWAY drag shifter

It's an FD man, not a Dodge Neon LOL.

Srce: I'm not sure what a dodge neon has to do with having a self-centering spring/mechanism for the 2-3 upshift. If you must know - yes, I also have a dodge neon. I think this type of mechanism is highly advantageous, especially if you are in a drag race type situation - as Jason mentioned above. When you're in the heat of it, you don't think to pause, move the shifter over, then slide it into 3rd. Much easier to just bang through the gears. - My opinion. If you know anyone with a mustang and a pro 5.0 shifter go check it out - best shifter in the world.

I feel arguing coming soon. Just keep it nice in my thread, Im not a mod though hehe

Yeah the Stillway would be nice, but the FD is smooth already, I mean in some other cars I drove, you had to kick the shifter the right way, and then it still was wrong and GRINNNNNNNNNDDDD So I think your good with just a short shifter, Stillways page is down and I talked to them the other day, they will be coming out with some parts next month, so they are holding the release, maybe some more shifters hehe

I've been thinking about picking up a Stillway for Drag only.. kinda bulky to use for daily driveing.. throw it in when you get to the track.
