Hello buyers, All the bumper guards will be going out on Monday via USPS priority mail.

The bumper guard can clear any kind of exhaust system.

Picked mine up from the Post Office today. Looks great! Any suggestions on how to hold this on? Thinking either double sided tape or rivet. The only problem with tape is someone might try to swipe it from me

i planned on just picking up some rivets, and then probably using something like washers to protect the inside of the bumper skin. i don't think i'll be putting mine on right away though.

I was thinking of rivets too, but then I got wondering if I would have to drop the exhaust to get them all in. Not to mention I would need to buy a rivet gun

Chuck, what's your suggestion on this?

Thanks.

Bryan

P.S. Jimmy, how's the car repair going?

I have the racing beat cat back exhaust on mine and I can just install the bumper guard without taking off the exhaust. I did the following:

1. clean the rear bumper

2. put a piece of 3M double sided arylic tape on the bumper guard. Just a small piece so the bumper guard stays on the bumper while I am doing the drilling and riveting.

3. Drill the bumper guard on the bumper so it drills through both and put the rivet on. Do it one hole at a time so everything will align right.

4. Use black touch up paint to touch up the rivet so it's less obvious to see.

chuck, did you have any problem with drilling thru the bumper skin? i.e. and cracks or anything because of it?

bricke-i've had the engine out now for about 2 months. i'm going to be calling a few shops this week. my brother talked to Atkins a few weeks ago, and he was told that they have had customers send in just the housings to be ported, and i think that's what i'm going to do. cheaper=more money for repaint (i've got a '99 spec front end now), and more money for a single. i hope to have the car running by next spring, as i'm sure we'll be heading to cedar falls again.

how's your car doing? i remember you saying you were going to be towing it to a-spec sometime after our 'meet'.

I just installed mine Saturday night. Cleaned the rear bumper, figured out where it fit best, then doubled sided taped it on. I then drilled one hole at a time, and riveted that hole. I think I put 9 or 10 rivets in it total. It fits really good, and there was no cracking of the bumper skin or the guard itself. I will try to get a pic up tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks again Chuck! I was the envy of all the rice boys Saturday night

Is it too late to pick one up? I need one. It looks like my huge *** pipe burned my bumper. (I just go my FD.)
