Yeah it is a little notchy for a week miles, but will start to be smooth as a babys butt and never be notchy after that again, its like its doing its break-in

Give it about a week of driving. I mentioned before its a little stiff until it breaks in

Mine was leaning aginst the door when I got home last night. It is now installed in the car, and boy is it nice. Its a bit notchy at first, but it is smoothing up quite nicely as that plastic ring fits in. I totaly suggest anyone get one. The only complaint that I have at the moment, is that it is alot firmer. With a heavier shift **** though, it would be alot easier to move.
Great ! Thanks for the feedback Dan.

It is getting better as it goes on. The fact alone that the shift is now about 1/2 of what it was is quite nice. (Fiance doesn't like it as much because she can't feal the gears as good though)

It is seriously only a 15 min install. Easiest thing I have done yet to the rex, or any car really. The short shifter on the crx needed me to crawl under and redo linkage, ugg.

I was going to ask how much it shortened it by. Mazda Trix claims their's reduces the shift from 6" to 3.5" .

its pretty damn close to that. I can look and see exactly today, but its not

even a full flick of your wrist to get it in gear.

Like dan you said its getting better, soon it will be super smooth and stay that

way.

so you just remove the shifter console, right?

i'm just assuming you can do all the work from the top/driver's seat (not underneath the car)?

OH YEAH.... Just remove the **** and the center console, and then remove dust boots, and then the 3 bolts, and put the shifter SUPER EASY! and reverse with the new shifter
