Indianapolis, IN - The Rotary Revolution proudly announces guest speaker Jim Downing of Downing Atlanta to the Rotary Revolution 2005. Jim will be discussing motorsports safety and will give us an up-close look at his internationally acclaimed HANS Device®.

Early Rotary Racing
Jim began racing Mazda's in IMSA's International Sedan Series back in 1974, and in 1982 he built the RX-7 that eventually won 23 races and 5 IMSA championships! In 1989 he built the first Kudzu Camel Lights car and managed the Mazda 4-rotor factory effort which won 8 races and the 1991 GTO driver's and manufacturer's championships.
The original HANS® went on sale in 1990 and has been thoroughly tested by most major automobile manufacturers. In proven studies the HANS® has continued to show that it is extremely effective in reducing driver injuries. In 2000, compact versions of HANS® were developed for CART, IRL, F1, NASCAR, NHRA, ASA, SCCA, APBA, and many other forms of racing. In 2005 all NASCAR drivers will be required to use only the HANS® device throughout the season.
