OK, my idea is....... Make a way for people to submit there own smilies and create a huge master list of smilies. then create a control panel where we could pick which ones we wanted. Then instead of clicking 'show all' and pick have like 'show favorites' or whatever.

I think that would be cool, but it would be more of a luxury or novelty than anything else.

Well it's possible, but it would eat up a ton of database space, say each member had 16 smilies, that would be 16 entries for each member into the database. Not to mention is would add 2 more queries to each page, slowing down execution time. Not really something I want to slow script execution time.



However I am more then happy to add smilies when I get the chance, I have been a little slow at it lately, but I'll get it done eventually.

 

I meant I don't know why I threw that idea out, I was tired. haha. anyway I knew it would have no real merit besides being cool from the start.

 

Damn database people always talking about queries and cost and processor time...lol. (no offense...remember, I am a DBA) You can always upload your own smileys and link them the old fashioned way.
