Hello fellow rotorheads,
I have not had much success, nor has Vosko in securing a site to hold Rotorfest this year. As most of you know we were banned from our usual spot, due to the few people that thought doing burnouts everywhere was cool. Basically I am looking for a large open area that can be rented. The owners must know that it is for a car show, there will be a DJ, and food vendors. If you work at a large office possibly, or happen to know someone or some where, please contact me ASAP with any info you have. I would estimate anywhere in a 50 mile radius from Giants stadium would be a central spot for the majority of people that attend. Thanks to all Jay |
where martin works would be nice. ill try to get some contact numbers from my job.
we could prob just take over a predetermined rest stop on one of the highways.... |
i have their number at work... if you guys really want to.... most of the offices at my place are closed on sundays.
the owner of the complex is paragano associates paco thanks for bringin that up, i never even realized how big that parking lot is. |
Ok people, Ito has connections at Island Dragway, so he is going to contact them this week and see what he can do.
I have spoken on the Phone to the Director of Operations at quite a large facility in NJ. We can def. have it there if need be, so all hope is not lost. The site is in the pic below. Obviously we won't get the whole place, but I can get us as much space as we need! http://www.sussex-county-fair.org/im...002NJSFair.jpg |
i hope there is a horse show there when we are there
|
Woot I'm the first to make a corny 'horsepower' joke.
|
I liek the idea of having it at a parkway rest stop...it will also be really easy to get there too, but I don't know about all of the details
|
Does it have to be on the east coast?
Hmm how about were the rotary revolution will take place at in May? Indianapolis Indiana Talk to Mike username MichRX7 he helped set up the revo he could help out with info and all that if you would be intrested in holding it there. |
Dude, Rotorfest has, and allways will be a East Coast event. Why the hell would I want to have an event nowhere remotly close to where I live, and furthermore, what about all the eastcoast people that attend every year???
It's not like it won't happen, it's just a little more complicated this year due to the people that ucked up our usual spot We have more rotary powered vehicles on the east coast than the entire USA! |
island dragway is the best bet...just sucks that the road leading into it is not paved...

quick, crappy, snowy pic of the parking lot:
http://www.niteshade.net/89t2/exterior/Feb04/ext3.gif This back lot can handle 200 cars easily, has a wrap around section wehre the loading docks were which woould be great as a food/dj/bs-ing area and there's local things to do after the meet such as a bowlnig area, movie place, philly cheese steak place, italian restaurant/pizzeria........kmart. lol. best part? i live 5 seconds away, and itos shop is like 5 minutes away. kevin. |
in that pic im at one end of the parking lot, it stretches down and opast that 3rd street light. There's probably about 7-8 rows of lined parking spots with tons of spot per row. plus like i said the loading dock section behind what once was pathmark.

what's good about this place is that you can go to the 2nd floor and take a pic of almost the whole parking lot and get top view

Well I pulled some more stings today. I have a friend who's brother-in-law is the mayor of a town here in North Jersey. There is a chance that we can get the whole park. I hav'nt seen it yet, but I was told it has covered seating, BBQ pits/grills, and lots of parking. It's the green area in the pic below!

if that doesnt work, i e mailed a few beaches in jersey that might be able to accomodate us
|
i just realised there is the perfect spot right here in linden. its a relatively new shopping center with plenty of parking, right on route 1&9 and easily accesible off the parkway and turnpike. best thing, theres a hotel right in the corner and a motel across from it.
now how do i go about finding out who to contact for info??? tomorrow ill give finding info about where i work a shot, again right off the parkway and a motel with in a mile or less. also ill try to find out about a local area where they usually have classic auto shows during teh summer about 1/4 mile from where i work. if your familiar with 5 points in union/kenilworth, its right on 5 points. galloping hill hot dog something or other... |
