You guys that have attended in the past know that we have outgrown our usual location. So Vosko and I have been playing with the idea of hosting the event at one of the racetracks here in the tri-state area.

2004 is right around the corner, and we have to make a decision and book a venue soon.

Please: no arguments on LOCATION, We just want an idea on facility options.

Thanks

imho for a road course event...

youll need a full day to make it worthwhile..

although my vote went to all of the above...

but id tend to think rotorfest be maintained as a car show only...

and keep each motorsport event on separate schedules...

See, thats the thing. We would like to take this to the next level. In 3 years we went from 40 cars to over 150. Granted, we can increase the size of the carshow to unlimited numbers with the right enviornment to host it, however there are many guys who don't like the whole "car show" scene. So if we add more elements to the event, we could accomodate more people, and make it a better day for all.

Like I said, right now this is just in the "idea" stage.

and there are those who are into all three...

you can most likely do a single motorsport and run the staging area as the show portion..

for a road course... imho you'd need to consider at least a dedicated day ..

a good alternative would be autox as the requirements and considerations would be far less and more accomodating..

that is.. if the all events were to be squeezed into a day..

if your considerin etown jay..

they typically run autoxes on the spectator side lot...

id suggest runnin it at the far end of the opposite lot..

so that you can use the drag stagin area as show and maintain close proximity...

itd be a hassle to walk around just to see the autox event...

just to add.. there are those whod like to witness the events as they happen as well...

havin multiple events kills the ability to watch...

not to mention place in the show if your car has been at each of the course for a good duration..

it won't be e-town, lets just say Vosko and I are not a fortune 500 corporation!!!!

you make some good points, that will be taken into consideration.

I know some people would just be interested in showing their cars, yet I'm sure they would enjoy watching the racing action. And as far as the guys who do want to race, I'm sure we could accomodate them as to have a spot for the show, regardless of how much time they are on the track. Ultimatly I would love to make this a 2 day weekend event, but that won't happen this year.

i vote for a car show as well as a motorsport event. i think drag racing is the easiest and most universally popular, so i'll say drag racing and car show. it would be nice to try and squeeze an auto x portion in too.

jay, you guys have the shop #, call me or joe and tell me what kinda support you need as far as event sponsorship. J&R Performance is all about the rotary community, and we want to help make this rotorfest the best one yet....
