MRR: lodging/campground links

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Road America is just out of Elkhart Lake Wisconsin. approx an hour north of Milwaukee and 10 miles west of Lake Michigan in another world.

many of the MRR attendees are staying in a small town, New Holstein, approx 15 miles NNW of the track. Friday night's party dinner is in New Holstein. we stay at the Starlight Motel. if you want to do fri night w us and the Starlight is booked there is another town 8 miles further NW, Chilton, and you could try the Thunderbird (so 50s-60s) 920 849 4216. or East sHore Inn 920 849 4230. i did a drive by past the T Bird and it looks fine. 'haven't seen the other.

if you are coming in late and need to crash i suggest the Chalet in Mequon Wi just off 57/43 an hour south of the track.

if everything is sold out i suggest checking out Fon du Lac 25 miles w on hwy 23. lots of lodging biggish town. there will be over 50,000 people at the track so lodging may need to be pursued imaginatively and immediately.... for instance everyone comes from the south to Road America so think north of the track.

here are links:

Road America's lodging list.... including CAMPING.

BTW, the MRR Corrall is free, thanks Mazda, as are the prizes relating to the Concours and drawings. Thanks sponsors.

the brand new issue of Road and Track features an article on Track Design written by Sam Posey and carries a picture of Road America w the quote.... many consider Road America to be the best road racing track in the country. if you have never been to RA find out why.

for a good time.

see you there
