What year is your car?

I would suggest NOT putting an american V6 into your car, seeing as how EVERYONE will hate you, atleast get a V8. But I suppose the V6 would be lighter on teh front end.

Anyways, look into finding a VG30 (Nissan 300ZX motor). That would be better (in my eye's)

For $500 you could get a good running short block off of the forums, and it would be MUCH easier, because your going to have to fab everything up, unless you use a kit from grann'y speed shop.

And then that will cost you more money.

You will end up spending more $$$ if you swap something else in. You will run into ton's of small problems that you didn't think of, costing more in the long run. Just save up enough money and get it done right, with a $1000 your not give yourself much to work with.

Acctualy you won't run into mcuh of any problems putting a V6 (chevy/ford), into an RX-7, because there are no clearance issue's with a motor that small, and if you carb it, you really don't have to wire anything up other than the starter and altornator.

But I still think it would be cheaper for you to jsut put a rotary back in it. Especially if you just blew your motor, because all you have to do is buy a short block, and wala. Presto is runs again.
