Thumbs up

Here is the scenario

The local shop that did my cutom paint has asked me to leave my car at the shop Tomorrow (5-17-04). The reason is that BASF will be there to shoot picture of cars The shop has used their Charisma/Extreme line of paint products on. Well my car was shot with both. The reason for the shoot is potential selection for their next calender. Hopefully I wil be lucky enough for them select my car. If not chosen they will still own the pics and could still use them for other promotional purposes.

The problem

What should I call it? I giving you guys the opportunity to help decide what I put down on the make model sheet. Still don't see the problem? My car started life as an 88 GXL, I rescued it from a salvage yard, completely restored it but did not retain the rotary, It now has a 94 5.0 SBF And have been informed the RX7 designation will no longer for it.

Please give me some suggestions, I am sure you will be very creative.

Heres what I have so far, Could just call it:

A hybrid

An 88 Mazda

What I tell people when they ask, especially if they are in an un-molested 7, is that it is a PX8, (Piston eXperimental v8)

Not trying to stir crap up, genuinley would like your input on this.

TIA

Jim

RX-V8 would probably work. A lot of people think the RX stands for Rotary eXperiment or something like that. I don't think it really matters in your case.

The R definetely indicates Rotary, i would go with VX-7 or something that kills the R or xX-7.

I think he rescued this car from a junk yard so it was ether gonna be scrapped or customized.

I used to hate these swaps but in all honesty if the car was about to be crushed at least its still on the road.

When people inquire about my car I tell them its a TII with a 3rd gen engine swap.

So maybe you could call it a Hybrid RX-7 w/ a 5.0 swap.

The 5.0 Ford engine (while not as lite as an LS1) is a very underated Motor. I have seem more 9 second Mustangs than I have seen 9 second Rotaries. While its a heavy engine its definatly got the potential to throw down some nice power.

He wont be "going" anything. The car has had that engine for some time, and I dont remember offhand, but if its fuel injected, its been that way.

Got any pics? I for one, would actually like to see them.
