so i think i might go ahead and swap out the 13b for an ls1 V8, little tuning resources and reliability factors come to mind.... at first i HATED the idea of people putting another engine besides a rotary into an rx7, especially an american v8 . I thought that the weight balance would be off and there would be problems with motor mounts. Apparently the weight distribution has proved to be as good or better as the ls1 sits low and more central as there is no turbocharger system. And there seems to be a direct fit, premade motor mount setup for the swap. Ive gotten to the point where ive had fun with the rotary and would rather sell it to someone who wants a good 13b with relatively low miles. WHen it comes down to it an engine is an engine, they all produce the same thing hp, torque, or however you want to measure it. The fact is that whatever is inside of it -it is still and always will be the same great handling, beautiful looking rx7. Not some overly lengthy vette w leaf springs that weighs 3300lbs.

Where can i find this motor mount kit for the ls1?

Are there any major transmission issues to deal with when doing this swap?

Can i still utilize my current 3in exhaust system, or would a custom setup be best?

PS i also plan on modifying the ls1, most likely through natural aspiration, intake exhaust cams lifters injectors ecu all that good stuff, maybe even some of those high compression piston things(whatever those are)....if a turbo setup could fit who knows!!!(that would be a whole different story)

any input would be appreciated, Thanks!

I dont have a FD, or a LS1, but I have a pretty good 326 corrected hp/380 ft. lb;s tq to the wheels FC.
