Just wondering if anyone has any good input on using a jspec/jdm/ used japan engine.

I need to replace my n/a fc, and am not sure what way to go.

Risk getting a used long block, or tear down my engine, and get it rebuilt.

Long block would seem easier. Maybe?

Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Disclaimer: This answer is based solely on hearsay, and I do not have any direct experience with used jspec engines.

While some people may get lucky and receive a usable jspec engine, many find they have a lump that will not run. The consensus here seems to be that the best course of action is to buy a jspec engine, and then rebuild it, or have it rebuilt.

Seems to me your best bet would be to have your current engine rebuilt.

Anybody else?
