I have a 1989 non-turbo rx-7, and the engine blew, so I bought a turbo engine from japan and it wont start....does anybody know what i have to do to make the enigine start....me and my friends pushed the car, and i jumped started it , but it wont idle, and when i press the gas..it goes guh guh guh and cuts off??



And my exhaust i dont know where it goes either...theres no hole for it??anyone know where that goes too?

did you swap over the TII drivetrain, wire harness, computer ?

i dunno...i actually got it free....i dunno what the guy swapped.....i know the engine fuh sure.....but theres alot off wires , and dunno where they go???

Oh boy.Maybe you need to go thru the engine harness and make sure everything is plugged in properly first then go from there.

or bring it to an rx7 specialist.................

talk to the previous owner and get as much information as you can... go from there.

i dont wanna spend too much money.........if the car was a turbo b4, should it have a turbo gauge???

could a vacuum hose stop it from not starting?

and another thing, the exhaust dosent have a mount.....its just hanging there???does the exhaust connect to where the turbo is??

sounds like you should sell the car to someone on this forum instead, you don't seem too interested in investing time/money in getting the car working right.

Never heard of that place......Do you guys have a webpage???should post it in the canadian forum.Yeah there should be a downpipe from the turbo to the exhaust and I hope the wiring is hooked up properly too.I doubt a vaccum leak will cause the car to not start.It might run like **** but it should still run.

i dont know how that is possible...the exhaust is just hanging there, like a foot apart from the turbo??

i hooked it up to the back of a pick up and jumped started it...and it started up, but it was making all these noises..

when i press the gas, u can hear the turbo spinning but the car wont move....its only moving b/c its hooked up behind the pickup...and when i drop it back in neutral, it just cuts off??

i think this car needs alot of work!

I bet its got n/a exhaust on it, an n/a downpipe(midpipe). Get a digital camera, worth every penny. Even the $100 ones are good.

Yeah You need to invest in a Digi cam.If the exhaust does reach the turbo then you need to get a downpipe made up.Sounds like there is more to it then that but that is a big problem.So is it running or dead then????

it dosent start, only when i jump start it , then it starts

Did it come with all the parts like TID and AFM. THe car will not turn on if you have massive air leaks.

what is the tid afm?????i know some air hoses arent connected...but i know its more that that!
