How much do you think it would cost to drop a 2jz-gte engine into an FD. I know but I just wanted to know how much.

ABOUT.... $10,000 or so, for everything. And that should cover some mods to.

But of course the thing that is going to cost the most (assuming you already have the 3rd gen) is going to be an MKIV supra half cut, which is about $4000-5000 dollars.

just remember....3 rotor swaps have been quoted on avg to end up at around 30,000...and that is with a 3500 dollar motor.... and using the tranny that you already have...that mounts to the car already!

with a 2jz youll have to custom EVERYTHING

its like playing Mazda... "hey we got the car now we gotta design how to get it to drive! engine, tranny, driveshaft, rear end, mounts, etc"

welllllll, yeah, I assume people can do that.....

I don't think it is optimistic. I am doing to a TII, with a 7M (as most everyone has seen...) And have less than $2000 in the hole right now, and it will be running/driving with another $500.

And a half cut, is the front clip of the car. Come with like, engine, drivetrain, rear end (the remove it most of the time, and give it to you), fuel pump. Basically most of the main parts that you will most likely need.

Not everybody lives on a farm and has access to welders and torches and stuff.

I do my own fab work too but not everybody can

And you have a **** $500 7M that probably isn't going to last, and this guy is talking about doing the swap for reliability if you see his other thread about this in the lounge.
