The Start Of My Fc/fd Engine Swap
#14
Well Folks things are not going too good
The Mechanic that I'm with
Has yet to start even porting the plates
It's been 2 months since he got my plates
and he needs to close the motor
make the mounts
install the front mount
make the oil lines for the turbo
so at his pace what is that a year to go?
He has been working on other peoples stuff and ignoring my car even tho I was there 1st
Guess My money is no good there
I'm scrapping the project and I'm at a point where I may get out of Rotarys all together
This the second Mech I tried doing business with
The 1st mech has never at the shop
I got like 3K+ of performance stuff I might be selling soon
My plans now since I advanced him some money
he needs to close my S4 stock motor with new parts
and install the engine (just the block) and I will tow the car home
I will be restoring the car back to stock
and prepping it for sale
-like getting it repainted
reintalling the stock ECU,AFM,boost sensor
stock harness
Air condition
Powerstearing etc
and putting her up on Ebay

Thanks for the pep talk Vosk
It sucks that Rotary mechanics it seems
Don't care or don't understand how much money one has invested in there Rex's , quess they see it as.. it ant there money so
I'll do it when I feel like it
The thing is I know for sure 100% down the line the engine is going to let go and I DO NOT WANT TO bring it back to that slow ***
and there are vey few Rotary Mechanics here in Orlando
that know EFI+Turbo
Most are into Holly carbs and NOS and early rotarys
I wish I had space and time to do my own engines
buy a Vid etc
but it ant going to happen
I'm going to start by selling my 93 side plates, oil pan, mounts etc (have a buyer for it)
a custom top feed fuel rail
and a complete FD intake manifold setup
which I will be putting up on Ebay later today
Plan B: If I calm down
is to go with a stock intake ported but exhuast ported S4 engine
cause the street ported S4 plates I had before have "real deep grooves" in them where the corner seals travel on
Even tho this Mechanic says they would be fine to use.. BS
Then Take the car to a non-mazda shop where they work on Supras
DSM's ETC to get the Front Mount,T4 down pipe and turbo oil lines done
Install the MicroTech+ tuned
and NEVER EVER visit that particuler rotary shop again
Well see what happends this week

My suggestionn to you is to light a fire under this guys ***. Ask him how long it normally would take him to assemble and install an engine of this type. Don't take any bullshit like well I have to finish this car first or I need more money. Tell him that you have given him more than ample time and money up front and that you want your **** and that he is slow leaking it too much. Once he gives you a straight answer of the time it will take make him stick to it. For instance tell him that has from that day until his estimated time(2 weeks, 3 weeks, or whatever) to get it done. Constantly keep going to his shop to nag him about the progress until he gets it done. Also don't pay him another red cent until it is done and done right. Once he is done with it and you are happy then pay him and never talk to the bastard ever again. Unless of course you have a warranty issue.
