Hi, I have an 88 13B that I am trying to stuff into a spitfire. The only major drawback so far is the starter, I have to notch the spitfire frame in order to fit the 13B in. I have heard that the 12A starter is smaller than the 13B. Will the 12A starter work on a 13B? Does anyone know how much smaller it is? Also, does anyone know of a company that makes mini-starters for the 13B? (They make these for American V8's but I don't know if they make it for anything else). Please help if you know.

Thanks In Advance!

Yes, the '86-'91 NA is what I had to use in my 13B powered MG Midget. I also have one for my soon-to-be 13B powered GLC. It's small and light, especially compared to my '73 12A and '74 REPU starters. They're a couple o' wolly mamoths!

Oh, my '76 Cosmo's automatic starter looks to be the largest. It's be cool to take a pic of them near each other for a size comparison.
