please show me some "reliable" 1000hp car......
reliable meaning, its driven constantly without any problems right? cmon man, show me!! As for 715hp being close to 1000hp, I dont think so IMHO I see a couple 20Bs with 1200hp but we are talking one race, maybe 2. I mean these cars are running triple plates, sometimes quad plates, hyd trannies, racing trannies, if you had to stop at a stop light the car would die and I dont mean die like turn off I mean choke and frucking DIE FOREVER. SOMEONE MENTIONED what this thread is about RB26 in an FD--Yes lets get back to the subject. hehe I think its a poor idea unless your wanting to do it to be original or be in some magazine or something. |

I don't understand why people think GTR's are bulletproof. It takes alot of work on any engine to get 800 plus hp. I am very anti-piston eng going into 7's, it shows that people aren't willing to learn something different.
I honestly had no idea that the blocks were weak. |
i don't know if many of you realize that most of these HP numbers over 700 are not realized with pump gas. by pump gas i mean good old 92 octane. the fact is you can't boost 92 octane over about 22 lbs reliably with out the chance of some major detonation. these extreme HP numbers are for race applications and dyno queens, anywhere over 500 HP to the wheels on the street is really pointless cuz there's no street tire that could hold that amount of power.
if you want to do an intresting swap, how bout the V6 out of a grand national. they come with T-66's stock i believe, that's be an intresting swap to say the least. Loi |
ahh.. good living in nj where we get 93 and some gas stations 94 octane. i'm not saying you can boost 25 psi with 93 or 94, but i'm saying we have it in NJ https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Loi now how about a full bodied r100 street legal, full interior, not a sigle fb or cf part in it running low 10s... |

[/quote] That would be a neat swap...I've seen a stock SR20(As in stock block/head) make 400 rwhp. Figure with ported/polished heads, it'll make 450~. I'd like to see a GN swap as well, that would rock! |
dude, you'd have to be crazy. The money you'll put into that and the time will totally offset the end result.
It sounds sick on paper, but it's just a giant headache. Stick with what you have and work with that. It sounds great to drop a GTR in there, but it only sounds great. If it was as easy as everybody made it sound, then everybody would do it. |
http://www.misred.com/ this guy put a grand national motor in his car, its been done
|
use a damn RB25DET
RB26DETT is a overpriced status quo. It's too new, and I doubt many of us could even unlock its potential. Unless you're a really good tuner, and I don't mean with a wrench, I mean with a dyno and a computer. This swap would badass..But, even in the 240SX, it isnt that great, just a straight line car.. |
that GN swap is pretty nifty, you really can fit just about anything into an FC huh.
