does anyone know how to boost a Ren motor over 10pounds of boost? I still cant find anyone to make rotors or do something about it..

i have been working with Pettit Racing and everytime they get over 10 they blow a hole threw the rotor. Any fixs on this? I heard about some kind of coating that can make the rotors stronger.. can this be true i dont think it can but i can be wrong...
The only way I think your going to be able to do it reliably and without using some ridiculous octane is to lower compression with different rotors. I don't even know if that's possible with the Renesis, but from what I've found doing my 6port turbo research, right around 9.4:1 compression ratio (also lots of other factors...) is the sweet spot for boost and octane levels. Below that and you can run 10+ lbs and above that you start having to really worry about detonation after even mild boost. There are a few companies that do water injection setups EXAMPLE and that might get you over the hump. Also, here's a general octane vs compression ratio vs boost chart that I found. There's a lot of other factors and this comes from a boinger website, but this is a decent ballpark guide I think.

About the LSx swap, I'm not a big supporter of this, but if you're looking to do it into the RX8, I'd bet the guys at hinsonsupercars could help you out. They specialize in FD and FC LSx swaps. A buddy of mine is selling his FD shell to them and they seem nice to deal with. Here's the link.

okay well about Pettit and there holes... Well they have a supercharger they are working on with that they did not have the right computer setup. They are using the Greddy E-manage wich sucks ( sorry if you have one) The real way to go is with a stand alone like MicroTech has for the RX-8. The problem with these motor and any motor at that when you start boosting you really need timming adjustments. Without them you "WILL" get detanation in your motor. Renisis motor would be a awsome motor to build but till now we dont have timming adjustments. With Greddy Ultimate or Microtech we do The only problem with the Ulitmate is that it is not easy install and I hear of people having problems getting there tack to work. there is no way to go wrong with the MicroTech LT10 becuase it also hase the plug and adapter for it all for about $1000 or so. We should be seeing people boosting alot more with the full tunning capabilities of a full stand alone for that price. Pettit is building High Performance Renisis motors. Im sending my now they are doing port and polish and installing 3mm Apex seals. So it should take well over 15lbs of boost with good timming and high octane fuelIf you are interested ask for Jeff at pettit. Thanks for everyones help. I think I have learned alot in the last month about the Renisis and seeing how tunning can make the world of a difference so when I have my ride done Im going to post my Dyno sheets and pics... 400hp Renisis here we come...

Here is a pic of the Renisis motor.

LS? in RX-8 I have nuthing against GM but it would kind of defeat the purpose of buying a Rotary Powered Car right? [attachment=36724:attachment]
