The engine not the car!

What would it take to slap a renesis engine in a 87 N/A RX-7

I.E. Tranny/ECU/ anything else..

also would mazda start selling the engine as soon as the RX-8 is released?

i know someone who is already planning on doing this and is in the process of getting a motor from japan. it seems like its gonna cost an arm and a leg. and in his case, if i were him i would just go with a larger turbo for my 3rd gen

I'm holding off on my rebuild to get more info on this. Sending your FD engine to Pineapple can cost you the same $6-$8k stated above. Although, I don't think it would be that cheap. An important factor is will the PowerFC be available so you don't have to buy the RX8 ECU.

Now the most important questions: 1. Will the overheating problems be gone it you slap a turbo on it. 2. Will the Apex seals have a longer lifespan?

If it works out well, I predict it to be as common as Acura Motors in Honda Civics! Eventually we'll see motor mount kits and all that stuff.
