RotaryVW
My friends and I have just decided to adopt a project car, and want to put a 13b or 20b possibly turbo rotary into a VW beetle. I know it has been done before, and if anyone has suggestions or has heard of or run into problems while tackling this feat, PLEASE PLEASE post a reply or email me at ROTORGIRL@hotmail.com
Thank you

Hi,
I've got a Kelmark GT which is on a '74 bug pan. I've installed a '87 Mazda TurboII rotary. I've done a lot of the adapters myself(oil cooler mount, intercooler mount, block off plates, etc) and have beefed up everything to take the about 250 rear wheel hp. The engine is controlled by a Haltech E6k engine management system running "Hitman" maps.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me as in the three years it took me to put this togather I've seen most every problem.

Remember that you'll need a automatic counterwieght on your rotary to do the swap properly. The info needed is found at the above link.
What would you use for a engine mount system?I think the gsl-se mount might work with some moddifying
You don't use mazda motor mounts, as the rotary bolts to the VW transaxle just like the VW(with a KEP adapter.) Its a good idea to upgrade to a beefed up trans mount, urethane trans mounts and a trans strap kit.
Vanderhoof BC, I know were thats at. I used to live in Ketchikan,AK and I'd pass through there going back and fort to Seattle. Does Prince George still have Ester Motel?(The one with the indoor jungle, swimming pools, water slides, etc?)

Just make sure that you beef up the transaxle and drive train(Bus CVs, stubb axles, etc.), or or it will go real fast for a very short time. I spent more money beefing my drivetrain than most anything else on the car.
If you need any advice, just let me know. As I posted before, been there done this.
