Oil Metering Pump...
#1
my car is almost ready to be taken on the road, actually i took it for a spin last saturday. 1 of the few concerns is the OMP. is there a way to test it to make sure it is actually working?? can i just take them off and turn the car on and see if oil is being pumped.
also, i hear all the turbo guys talk about fuel cut. im guessing thats when the engine kinda cuts off for lack of fuel. what is that like, and could something similar happen to NAs? i think i might have ran out of fuel for a sec or 2. it kinda didnt want to go no more, then it picked up.
it pulls all the way through 8k like butter and wants to keep going. i tried this after numerous idleing days and like 2 miles of actual driving.lol

you are right the factory test for the mop is to pull the lines off and see what comes out. they tell you to put the correct amount of oil in the motor while you are doing this. na's dont have fuel cut

cool. NAs do have, not getting enough fuel under load for trying to do something thats probably not a good idea. so the question would be on either the regulator, the pump or the intake setup...
could an intake be too tall/long to allow the necessary amount of fuel/fuel mixture to reach the engine??
as far as the fuel pump...as long as the pump is rated for more than the suggested psi of fuel for the carb, it doesnt matter as long as u have a regulator to bring the pressure down, correct?
can the regulator be broken or caused to malfunction to to too much vibration?? its mounted on the engine and it shakes quite a bit.
i think thats it for now...lol
thanks
