FYI the LS1 weighs in under 460LBS complete including stock exhaust manifolds and all accessories (except tranny)...DUDE don't do the v6 conversion ....NO NO NO NO NO go rotary or v-8 pick your own but not a v-6 come on...your gaining weight without the power and the v-6 mount and tranny actually upsets the weight balance more then a v-8 or 3 rotar conversion. I suggest the rotary if you don't want performance gains simply because it will be easier and in the long run chearer....as far as alluminum block/heads you CANNOT overheat them...they like to die on you bc alluminum has a higher expansion coefficient..(thanks to my materials engineering teacher) so it tends to deform or fail...you just have to keep them cool which isn't a problem simply use an aftermarket radiator which most (alot anyway) competitors have anyway. Some people go with an aftermarket body kit that has larger openings but that is basically for looks not for cooling...also venting your hood around the cowl helps especially when sitting in traffic or staging lanes....finally if your at the track have a garden spray bottle of luke-warm (DON'T USE COLD) water and spray on your radiator/oil/transmission coolers to help cool them down...its not the temperature of the water that cools it its the evaporation in this sense that uses the thermal energy from the radiator...also try using a large fan shroud or higher volume electric fan. (just a couple of tricks)...NOW to business I would like to hear from people who have wider tires/rims on their gen 2 rx-7 (give me the rim size/ tire size and any mods you have that would affect them fitting) you can pm me or e-mail me since this isn't the correct board...I only want what you have on your car not what you heard fits etc...thanks

I have no idea whare you just popping in from but here we go.

I won ASP Championship last year in my TII against Covettes (Z-06) and Vipers .

I am winning the BP Championship this year and only attended 1/2 the events. Everytime I show up I win.

I consistantly get FTD (Fastest Time of the DAY) at the Autocrosses no matter where I go. I beat the cars a class above me in AP which are Factory Five Cobras running both small block and big block V-8's and weigh 500lbs. less than me.

So what do you want to do to me with your 73HP car?? The guys in SM2 dont want me to get DOT tires next year and race in their class becaue they know I will beat them. That includes done up CRX's and Turbo MR-2's.

I won 3rd place in Mazda Rev It UP in Miami FLorida out of 1500 competitors including the like of Disimo King and maybe you have read this guys articles in Sports Car Magazine, Danny Shields.

Still want to challenge me? There willbe a Rotary Challenge in Atlanta next year come on out and we can battle. Hell I'll even race you in 1/4 mile after I destroy you in Autocross. You might want to put in a V-10.

ha ha ha...I haven't been in this part of the forum for like 1 year. Why woudl someone bring up my old *** thread. Its a shame jim doesn't come on here anymore...I loved his car. I skipped the swap and just bought a camaro SS.

edit: I'd still like to do this swap one day..I was just reading on ls1tech.com that a guy has a 93 rx7 with JUSt 400 hp in the high 10s on stock suspension...its also a crazy road race car and it only weighs 15lbs more than a regular fd. It has full interior and such and has 50/50 distribution.
