Is true hey.If you paint a mounting it feels like youve done a lot https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif As for it being small, not really.Width wise there is plenty space, but the nose is a tad short. The radiator im fitting goes in easily though.Electric fan as well.I might just be able to fit a decent rally spec aircleaner too.
Trust me,there will still be a lot of swearing. At least the set-up of the motor wont be too much of a problem. The microtech has a map in it for this specific engine,so it will just be fine tuning.Thats a big plus for me.Listen, what sort of mileage do you run these things in with? |
tranny looks as if it can go back a few inches. that should clear some room for the rad.
and this is what i had in mind when i read "fiat abarth"... http://www.historicrace.fi/G911.JPG |
Hell,no.That would have been a tight fit https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png This is it,and no it not Jesus, its me driving it.
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v116/riekus/mas.jpg Its a helluva good chassis on this car.I was cornering hard there. It actually pissed some fuel from the overflow if you look carefully. This thing corners very flat.I do have a funny feeling it is going to bite my head off soon though. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |
Well guys, things are moving fast.Ive got the radiator in.As well as the propshaft. The diff is back together and im busy with the fuelpumps and swirlpot. The wiring will get done during the week some time and by the end of the week i will take the dummy motor out.Flat and spray the engine bay quickly.Early next month she will be up and running.
The biggest jobs now are indeed the cosmetic stuff, and the clutch master and slave.I need to get the oilcooler pipes made up as well.Im using a Delta Integrale Lancia's oilcooler as it fits perfectly. Im very happy with the angles on the propshaft. Its perfect.I just hope the diff lasts for a while. I want to ask you guys some turbo info.I am very scared of large turbos as i am a bit of a throttle response junkie.I need it to be very rapid out of corners. If i want to upgrade to a slightly larger turbo in the near future, what will give me massive power up top,but not be too laggy?A good all rounder.Ive driven one today with a t64 on it.and it has scary power up top,but will be destroyed on a track by a Mini Cooper. It really only started going at about 4000rpm.Which is too high.I want to be in boost by 2500rpm and at full boost by 3000. Any ideas???? |
What do you mean by perfect angles on the propshaft? I'm sure you know but in case, they do need a bit of an angle to keep the UJ's from wrecking themselves.

Mark Yes i know, between 6 and 13 degrees.Im sitting at 11degrees from gearbox to carrier and dropping another 2 degrees to the diff.Im clearing the top of the tunnel at the yoke by 25mm.So its good. |
Ok guys,i downloaded this videoclip of a series 6 chasing down a Lambo Gallardo.
http://64.158.28.140/MPEG/TwinVision/bir_0...ing_lambo_2.mpg Now,a few questions. What dumpvalve gives that distinct whistle on overrun? It sounds gorgeous. Also, what turbo gives that distinct high pitch whistle under boost? What causes it to do this.Is it the turbine wheel ratio to the comp wheel or what? I want mine to sound like this. Its important......... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif |
Havent been on here for a while.Helluva busy.In between i did do a lot of work on the old Fiat.

So-what you guys think? |
Ive also cured the rowing of the gearshift once in gear by fitting a very small little spring to the guide pin under the bush where it locates on the ball.Feels like a new box now.
