I'm putting an engine out of an 88 RX 7 with an auto trans into my 86 RX 7 with a manual trans. I know I have to take the counter balance weight, and flywheel off the back and put my manual flywheel on, but does the front balance weight have to be changed out also, or are the front weights the same for both set ups?

I believe they are the same weigh. It is just that the manual's flywheel already has the counter balance cast into it, while the auto doens't. You'll also need a pilot bearing and seal since the auto's setup doesn't require one.

Hi, I'm in the same bout with a 90 gxl. Automatic motor in manual car, then I have a lightweight flywheel and counter weight. Does the counterweight get bolted to the flywheel or to the front. Sorry if talking gibberish but I'm lost in this battle .
