Hi!

I'm new here. I'm looking for info about how to get the nice close ratio gears from the rwd 626 in a gearbox that fits the wankel... I searched around a little, but couldn't find anything written here before.



The background to all this is that I'm planning to build a Locost (Lotus 7 type car) with a wankel, and I think the close ratios in the 626 would be great for that. Now I'm wondering if I should buy a nice rebuilt RX7 gen 1 gearbox that I was offered, and a 626 gearbox, and then switch the gears in the RX box to those in the 626 box. Or if I should just look for a 626 gearbox and make an adapter to make it fit the wankel. Which one is easiest?



Has anyone here done the gear switch? Or is there anyone who made an adapter maybe? Any information is appreciated. I have to decide on that gen 1 gearbox pretty soon.
