Baldy,

im not biased at all. its his car he can do what he wants. Im just one of those guys that like to keep same stuff in the orginal car(s), thats all.. V8's make plenty of power and they are cheap. Im just sayin he can save lots of weight keep handlin and make about the same amount of power with a 13brew. if he wants a 454 big block so be it, its his car. ill try and help him no matter what direction he goes.. i just think the 13brew would suit him best and be the easiest swap. JMO tho.

I dont know why i didnt mention this earlier but in the for sale part a guy is selling motor swap mounts for this conversion into your 2nd gen for a 13brew..

with those mounts you can still use a 3rd gen downpipe and all and make things a breeze for you to make the swap... def looking into for your swap if ya go a 13brew route..

the 13brew is the twin turbo or the single? like i said im a newb. to all this. i honestly have no idea what im planning on doing, but all i know is that its going to happen around feb. with a tax return from my good uncle sam

dude for the price just buy a 13bre from a cosmo it's cheaper twin turbo and you can use stock ecu and ****.

ok, i DO have a biased opinion, but if you want a lot of horsepower without screwing up the weight distribution too bad, why not go with a 20b? its twin turbo stock, and has a lot more potential than a 13bre or 13brew. just my opinion.

I dont know too much about rotaries and the such, but i do know a bit about v8 swaps (from my research on rx7s and Zcars). Its relitively straitforward, wiring isnt that big of a deal, and even less of a deal if you go carb. And to the guys talkin about REW and other 13b swaps, talking about powerFC and a single setup, i just want them to relise how much that costs. You can pick up a lightly used, 302, 351 (my possible route), 350, or 383 for less then the entire cost of a single turbo setup. And thats with the entire harness, pullies, and trani so you choose. 300 bucks isnt too much to ask for a 302, harness, ecu, t5, and pullies.

The basic kit from granny is roughly 500 bucks, driveshaft is another 300, and youll need a new rad and acouple other things including the headers. Granny's deluxe kit is about 1200 bucks with no a/c or powersteering, and 1300 with Since the rx7s are so much wider then Zcars, you got quiet a few header options, and ive seen 351 swap BBK full length headers on a 302 fiting just fine. With aluminum headers, manifold, and relocating the battery to the trunk, and with a fiberglass or CF hood you wont really be that bad off compared to a turbo rotary.

hope this helps

I just switched my stock fd hood with a fiberglass one and there is only like 5 pounds differance in them. nothing really thats going to help out a v8 swap to be lighter than a 13b, if you want to try you will need to start adding aluminum parts to the v8 like heads, intake and so fourth... then it may come close, unless of course you have a ls1 which is pretty much all aluminum....

also im just curious but if you do a 350 swap, and you use the grannys speed shop swap kit, with a normal intake cand carb would you have to worry about hood issues?? will it all fit under a stock hood?

god forbid you would want a reliable car.
