Has anyone heard of a 13b powered miata? i plan on making on and was wondering if you guys knew the difficulty of the swap. what is needed?
i only know of one. so freaking fast
i heard that if the rx-8 and mainly the renesis is sucesful that well get a rotary miata... that wold be some car... 2600lbs and 250 hp? damn finnally a miata even i would try to duck my head into
haha 250 hp? im gonna shoot for over 300, and its not gonna be for drag either, autocross
turbo or n/a ?
that 250 was stock btw for the renesis... modded it would be over 3 easy close to 4... better get your 13b miata going b4 those hit
"We," will not be getting the monster Miata, only a select few in Japan and Europe will have that priverladge. IMO the Miata is pure rotary material however the aftermarket for them is huge. There were like 4 or 5 turboed Miatas at the last Autocross ripping it up pretty good.
I plan on goin turbo. My friend might change to a single turbo and if so, i might buy his tt setup.(stock)
doesnt racingbeat have a 13b miata?
nope
they probably built one. they also built a mazda rotary truck too! |
there are a few 13bt miatas down here in miami. all you gotta do basically is engine mounts and tranny mounts as far as i know.
I would go NA personally and put down drafts on it....
Just my two cents of dreaming haha Jason |

I would love to drop a TII engine in a miata. I guess a the motor mounts and tranny moutn would be the challenge other than that, Use a haltech and you are set for low boost power. ANd some suspension tuning. I"m heard of people swapping out to a TII diff also in a miata. C |

Just my two cents of dreaming haha Jason NA is more reliable and cheaper. down drafts are carbeurators (spelled wrong) i think they are webers...... you can make 250HP N/A.......... that would be SUPER fun. the car is sort of quick with 130HP.... my mom has one. if it had 200+ hp i would love to drive it everyday as long as it could rev to 10k rpm https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
how do you convert? what is needed? and what about the different types of ports? this is gonna be a car for autocross only no street. :yum:
so for this setup i have to go peripheral intake? and where do i get the carbs and all the needed parts? its an 86 engine btw
you need a peripheral intake. they have carb intake manifolds for N/A stock port
mazda's coming out with a rotory powered miata in 2004... WOW... can we say

interesting! i know the stock MX5 trans is a N/A RX7 ..... that means you could put in a 13BT tranny and just get a custom driveshaft made ..... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/devil.gif oh the ideas !!!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
There is not a car made that can't be improved by a rotary turbo implant..........even Nissans..... :P
I saw one done in an option magazine the other month. looked real good and on top of that It was a chick that owns it.. :yum: I bet it will cost lots of cash
Cost the doctor dude we did it for about $15K (AUD) for the mechanical part. Thats engine, puter, install, debug. We hiflowed the turbo as well
Drive in asthmatic 100 hp 1.6 drive out stonkin 280 hp 13Bt. I scared him spitless on the demonstartion drive! He got the car repainted and wheeled while he was at it. No money in medicine! |

i know a guy named giny with a white miata running 11s with a T04.
Does anyone have pictures of how this was done? I've always read that the car had to be chopped up a lot to cram the 13B in there.
in australia there was a company putting 20bs and lexus v8s in miata(mx5 where i come from) they rebult the front with a tube frame chassis.

And Carbs SUCK. EFI rules. Webers are cool looking and sound great, but everything I read says driveablity sucks. The Problem is the Mazda wants a lot of fuel which requires some pretty big webers (48 or 51 mm), so upper end is good, but the bottem end suffers. |
so what do i need to do to put a N/A rotary into a miata?

so what do i need to do to put a N/A rotary into a miata? Or mazsport.net sells a kit to go turboII complete drive train swap. Mine makes 300WHP at 12psi. and I drive it every day to work. This way I show up to work every day with a smile on my face. Steve[attachment=35417:attachment] |
