thanks to BDC,turbovr6, and 94touring. finally it is fixed. took the car out for a spin. felt strong as ever. still needs tuning of course but its safe... OMG the fireballs on decel are crazy.... gotta remember to throw it in neutral in front of cops https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

again thanks. i was getting very annoyed i couldn't go on boost!

j9fd3s 08-15-2003 10:44 PM

sweet!

94touring 08-16-2003 12:47 AM

Sweet!!! So what did you end up changing to smooth things out? Time to bring the timing back up to get rid of the nasty fireballs.

vosko 08-16-2003 09:13 AM

changed from falling to rising and life is good again... 3rd gear i can rev to around 8000 rpm.... it was at 10.0 AFR @ 10psi. i haven't turned it up to 15psi yet. i'll do that after work and see how pig rich it is... i am very happy. this means i can to the drift event in two weeks

94touring 08-16-2003 10:22 AM

Cool!!

vosko 08-16-2003 10:27 AM

my L1 coil seems to be firing a bit wacky but the car runs fine. i'll ask judge ito about it when he gets back from vacay

TYSON 08-16-2003 03:44 PM

You mentioned you got rid of your ignitor, I guess that's what did it. The E11 manual mentions using rising for aftermarket ignition setups. Good to know https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

vosko 08-16-2003 04:15 PM

me read a manual NEVER

Vosko, you may wanna start leaning out bars 1 through 12 again in all ranges per the curves I sent you. If you're tossing fireballs out at decel, lean them out in ALL RANGES 2% at a time until the thing starts to buck or miss. When it does, increase by 3% and leave them. From there, mark bars 1 through 4 and take out about 5% or so. It'll help w/ the pops in theory.

What was wrong in the first place?

Well for one thing, somehow the threads of one of the sparkplug holes got fucked up. When I got there the plug would only go in at a 30degree angle. So after 2.5 hours, I managed to re-thread the hole straight. God that was fun, but better than pulling the engine out https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

That was my contibution of the week to the terminator mobile https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

vosko 08-17-2003 12:05 AM

yeah i don't think that was for optimal spark placement!

thanks again

TYSON 08-17-2003 05:29 PM

HEHEHE!! Why did I know who that was for when you asked in the other thread? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Cheers! 08-17-2003 07:03 PM
