Unhappy

OK PFC gurus, heres a good one!

Car starts fine, fires right up. Runs for like 2 seconds at 2100 rpm upon start up. Then it just dies. I know it's going to die after a couple seconds so I can keep the idle up by pressing on the accelorator. After about 10 seconds of keeping the idle up in this fashion she idles nice around 1400 rpm untill warm. Then drops to about 730 rpm. Idles nice around 730 rpm all day long.

Seems like there is a gap in between start up and and cold idle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tom

thats a toughie. you might want to reset the base idle speed to the facotry spec as a start

Hey Mike,

Thank you for your response!

You mean go back to the PFC base settings?

I have not changed them.

I really don't get this. It must have something to do with cold idle. Like I said, if I keep the rpm's up by pressing on the gas for like 7-10 seconds it idles nice around 1400 until it warms up. Then she idles at 720-730. Also, if I start the car warm it starts fine and idles fine, no stalling

Any other ideas??

Thanks again, Tom

did you let the ecu learn the idle?

when you go into the 'etc' menu, then to the switch/sensor screen, what switchs are lit up?

Hi thanks for the input.

Yes I let it learn for 10 mins at no load

10 mins w/ lights on

10 mins w/ air on

I just checked the switches: I have the following lit. CAT, ELD, HWL, PAC, and CCN

Does that sound right?

Thanks, Tom

Hi Mike,

I have not adjusted the idle screw. Think it could still be a problem?

Thanks again, Tom
