OK PFC gurus, heres a good one!
Car starts fine, fires right up. Runs for like 2 seconds at 2100 rpm upon start up. Then it just dies. I know it's going to die after a couple seconds so I can keep the idle up by pressing on the accelorator. After about 10 seconds of keeping the idle up in this fashion she idles nice around 1400 rpm untill warm. Then drops to about 730 rpm. Idles nice around 730 rpm all day long. Seems like there is a gap in between start up and and cold idle. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom |
Come on guys ! No ones been here before?
Tom |
thats a toughie. you might want to reset the base idle speed to the facotry spec as a start

Hey Mike,
Thank you for your response! You mean go back to the PFC base settings? I have not changed them. I really don't get this. It must have something to do with cold idle. Like I said, if I keep the rpm's up by pressing on the gas for like 7-10 seconds it idles nice around 1400 until it warms up. Then she idles at 720-730. Also, if I start the car warm it starts fine and idles fine, no stalling https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png Any other ideas?? Thanks again, Tom |
did you let the ecu learn the idle?
when you go into the 'etc' menu, then to the switch/sensor screen, what switchs are lit up? |

Hi Mike,
I have not adjusted the idle screw. Think it could still be a problem? Thanks again, Tom |

Hey Tyson,
Thanks man! I will check as soon as I get home tonight and post results here. From memory, I don't remember any of the sensors displays bein revers lit. I will check though. Thanks again, Tom |
There must be some significance to the fact that she only stalls when the engine is cold. Maybe some sort of water temp correction???
Tom |
Could be. Maybe the water temp sensor has failed or has a problem.
|
Yes. The water temp rises as the car runs, I have been watching it on the commander.
Thanks Tom |
Ok, My bad. When I reported those switches earlier, I had done it in the key on posistion engine not running. With the engine running and warm the switches I have lit are as follows FPD ( fuel pump operation ) PAC ( port air control ) and CCN ( charge control ) .
Tom |
Hey All,
I think I got it. Like I said, it only had the problem when I first started it ( cold ). I went to the water temp correction page and bumped the numbers in the 10°C range from 1.57 1.50 to 1.79 1.73 respectively. Started and continued running fine the past two days. Hope that ends that problem. Thanks for the replys, Tom |
tfhuth.. I have the exact same problem https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png where did you get your PFC from? i'll try what you did and see if it works.

Got it from Rotary Extreme in a group buy. Did you get yours fixed. Mine has been starting fine now. Tom |
