just got the re-amemiya redom type b for 350 horse motors. pushes like 15-17 psi. am i going to have to do any modifications that i havent done yet? so far i have catback, downpipe, air intake, stock turbos. and i just ordered smic. kinda worried about turbos and seals , the engine was rebuilt with 2mm seals

I recommend fuel pump, a manual boost controller, and a radiator.

prolly want to keep the main cat in there too, it keeps the apex seals from falling out

Yes, you're boost will definately creep with full-exhaust. Most FDs will get a bit of boost creep with just a MP.

all REDOM's have been chipped for specific applications.

meaning that good ol' Amemiya-san tunes them for each individual car they come off of.

you bought Japanese junk. not saying it's bad, just saying that it most definitely came off an FD in Japan.

sounds like you have a basic "boost up 7" REDOM ecu.

as long as you double checked what the ecu was originally tuned for, then you should be fine if your car is equipped with the same parts. most boost up redom's use intake, downpipe, exhaust and some form of a boost controller.

ignition timing has been done by Amemiya. the fuel curve has been adjusted as well.

prior to apex'i p-fc and hks f-con pro V; japanese loved to use chipped stock ECU's as a substitute for (or in conjunction with) piggyback fuel controllers such as the old hks f-con or the classic trust rebic. these were "plug+play" applications that were calibrated to work with the factory ECU and keep your engine from self-imploding. additional fuel needs were handled through the use of an hks aic or trust rebic iii.

one more thing..

are you 100% sure that the ECU you bought is compatible with your car? remember that japan has 3 different FD's. series 6, series 7 and series 8.

i'm pretty sure their engine harness and some sensors differ from series to series (as it is with the series 4 and series 5 fc)

im not sure about much, except for it is a hell of a lot faster now that i put the ecu in. it feels like i added about 70 horses, im taking it out racing next wed, i will post some quarter mile times. thanks for the info though, and it said that the car before me was using fmic exhaust and intake but who knows.
