Power Fc Problem!

aws is gone. the car idles fine, I can drive it, but can't get on bost. ofcouurse now, the ****** won't start at all

You have the wrong resistors or you got them too hot when you soldered them in.. go to the local radio shack and get 9 - 10 ohm resistors, they can be anywhere from 1-10 watts. I like the 1 watt ones because they are smaller, cheaper and they work fine. I had them in my car for over 3 years now with no problems. Also if you over heat them trying to solder them in you will kill them and they won't work correctly once they get hot from current passing threw them....

I have the same problem on my FD. The exact same problem - except I have stock injectors and just a downpipe/midpipe combo with a Geforce ECU. I've gone over the factory service manual troubleshooting section twice over, and have no error codes. I'm starting to think it's the MAP sensor.



What sucks is, the factory manual doesn't have a troubleshooting section where the problem is temperature dependant. I really can't put two and two together. The coolant temp sensor is fine - i even swapped it out for a second one I had. I posted on rx7club about it, and all I got was a lecture about the apocalyptic dangers of revving a cold engine.

we noticed on todds car (stock ecu/injectors hybrid fc turbo) it wont rev when its cold, it is so rich it fouls the plugs. have you tried switching ecu's?

Yeah, I've tried switching ECU's. The car starts up no problem, hot or cold.

Ok just my two cents here. I am not sure how the injectors go into the manifold/engine on a FD but on a FC since they are top feed they have a O ring around the bottom and after a while that O ring gets hard and is no good. In vacuum it will run fine because the vacuum is pulling down on it......the moment the car makes boost it leaks around the injector and the car stumbles....bogs, farts and just runs like ****.



Now I know FD has side feed injectors and all but it could be something similar to that problem, something that is purely mechanical and not to do with the Computer, sensors and all that. I think it is worth a look.

ive seen fd's where the bottom o ring isnt happy (usually the 850cc are in the primary holes). its a fuel leak and a vacuum leak at the same time

def not the resistors, I unpluged the injectors and ecu, measured between the 2 and came up with 10 ohms.

try puting an adjustable POT inline to the ecu for temp signal and play around with it. this fixed my problem had me stumped for about 6 months. i tried EVERYTHING! and this worked.

Problem solved: igniter was going bad. I didn't know igniters could fail this way, but I guess so. I always thought that when they went bad, the car won't start period. Anyway, thanks guys.
