Look at one of your maps especially if you have a 1 bar map.

Let me know exactly what your timing is set to at 6,000 RPM at 1 bar.

I am worried my map might be too far advanced.

I am at 19.5° BTDC.

Seems a little advanced to me.

Let me know.

Thanks.

yeah i'd be about 10btdc there.... although if the temps are cool enough more can be run for shot periods

Well, 10 seems a little low, I was thinking along the lines of 12-15 being as a dizzy setup would be running 12 all across the board.

I backed the timing down across the map. The only place higher than 15 now is in vacuum to around 5 PSI.

As I ramp up the RMP's and the boost I drop it down to 12 and 10.

yeah 12-15 might be ok, it depends on the setup, and temps. the colder everything is, the more timing you can run...

we found best power on our na car was about 26btdc L, so around 0, thats where you should be, cruise should be in the 30's

under wot the factory maps start retarded at low rpm (2000), and then the timing number climbs with rpm.

I wish I could screen shot my Motec and show you the timing map I came up with. Its similar to what you describe.

Motec is DOS based and I cannot screen shot it. Maybe a camera? Hmmmm.....

Far too advanced Jim, even for alcohol or 115+ leaded octane. For anything that's 9.4:1 and lower in compression ratio, stick to 13-14*BTDC with an 8-10* split. Start at 30-33*BTDC at 0".

Grab a few of my PowerFC base maps and take a peek. They're built directly from the several-odd years of Haltech-based tuning. Make sure you're mindful of the resolution of the P* and N* scales when looking at respective cells.

what about timing when we climb a little in boost?

as 1.7bar,6-7000rpm bridgeport, t78, ai with50/50 water/meth 10% of fuel, and 11.5 in airfuel.

as for now we had to stop on 1.3bar due to unstable boost because to weak wastegatespring, but then we where on 10btdc at 6000rpm and 11btdc at 7000rpm with 10degrees split..
