That's my other question...I'm gonna need a laptop for the Haltech aren't I? What kind of operating system does it use? DOS? that's scary, lol...what are my options as far as tuning the haltech on a laptop...can I use something like a desktop maybe?
You can adjust your maps with a desktop, but you can't do real-time tuning with it unless you have it in the car. Pretty much any kind of laptop will work, as long as it's like a 286 or higher. I like my Wolf because I can adjust everything with the handheld controller. Tuning while driving can be tricky, but you get used to it after a while.

Good...I didn't want to go out and buy a $3K laptop, lol...I'll just buy one from my employer...the company has like 40 of 'em laying around, lol. They usually sell them off to those auction things for like $500...

You can just buy a cheap one for $100-200. That should be fine.

The injectors are still in there, but I bought another used set that should be on the way. The guy said he just took them out a month ago. Once I have them I will check into sending the old ones to RC.

I'd like to paint my intake and alternator, so this gives me an excuse to do that. Not sure I will... but I would like to.

As for the laptop. I use a 486 (color screen) in DOS mode. I leave it in the car all the time. It works pretty welland it plugs into the lighter plug for power. I have a nice 1.2 gig laptop with Windows 2000 on it but the 486 in DOS mode actually loads the haltech data faster. The Screen isn't as nice, but it works well.

All you need is dos and 4 mb of ram, lol a 286 should do fine with a serial port. I"m fine with the dos program, it works and get the job done.

I just read the HITMAN site on haltechs installation...considering I'm a Cisco certified networker and have good wiring skills...I feel I should be able to accomplish it. I think I'll go w/ the Haltech E6S system....
How much do you make doing that? Im starting my Cisco classes later this year.
