I just got my new motor back and I am planning to start my installation sometime soon. I have removed alot of parts from my engine like, ABS, AC, PS, EGR, ACV, Rat's nest, etc... and I have alot of extra clips from the wiring harness that I will not need anymore. What can I do with them besides let them just lay there? Can I cut them, can I open the harness up and completely remove the wires completely, etc...? I don't want them in the engine bay anymore but I want to start my install but I need this answered first. Will the PFC start throwing codes if these sensors are not all plugged in or missing entirely? I have the resistors for the new injectors but I am just curious about the rest. Any help would be great. I am going single right now as well in case that matters. So anything that is not needed for the new turbo will also be going.

Thanks,

Scott

the pfc doesnt care if you have solenoids or not. the only thing to watch if you clip wires is that some of them are powered, so you need to make sure they arent grounding

Do you mean, to watch out when I clip them, or watch out when I give the car juice incase on of those wires still has current running through it? The harness is out of the car and I was supposed to meet with another guy and he was going to undo his wiring harness, cut the wrap off and pull every wire that he did not need anymore, then just re-wrap it up and hook it back up. Is that ok? Will there be any bad side effects to this? I just want the Rat's nest of wires gone as well as the AC, ABS, and PS....the other smaller ones I don't really care about but I would like to remove every wire that I do not need, I believe I only need one solenoid when I reinstall everything. Behind the altenator on front of the UIM by the TB. Is that true?

Thanks,

Scott

yah if you take out the stuff you arent using thats fine. if you just cut though it might be bad, every solenoid has 12v going to it, the ecu is the ground, so if you had loose 12v wires it would potentially blown fuses and maybe fire. if you remove the wires though its ok

Check the service manual about this but I am pretty sure that the larger 12 gauge wires are the positive. I know the black/green, black/yellow, and black/white are positives. Now one of those goes to the injectors it will stay, I'm almost sure the black/green is the power to the old ratsnest solenoids, but check the service manual and it will show you exactly what goes where.
