Fresh rebuild with an E6K trying to get it to start.

I have done this so far...I have run seperate grounds to the rotor housings and the intermediate plate 4 and 6 gauge.

Problem is this when I crank I put a timing light on the spark plug wire and the light will not light. However, pull the spark plug wire and put a spark plug in it...it sparks! But no light .....an any of the leads L1 , L2 , T1 , or T2

I have swapped my gun, wires, coils to my friends 87 7 and it all works just fine....

I tried this....again pulled the spark plug wire off....put a spark plug in it and let it ground to the fender....put the timing light on it and crank....the timing light lights off strong!

WTF

Why won't the timing light work when I put the spark plug in the enigne....I am guessing this is the reason it will not start...spark is just to weak due to poor grounds?

Best I can think of is the spark plug hole is acting as a poor ground.

I did paint the housings with a few coats of paint....but I jammed paper towels in the spark plug holes....

I need ideas....got any?

YEY! Swapped in new plugs and the timing light lit off...

So, gave it some gas and bam! Starts right up....

The older plugs were so fouled...they would not even spark.

WOOT IT RUNS!!!
